Digimon partner(s)/Spirit/Evolution Line: Leormon -> Liomon -> Flaremon -> Apollomon.
Character history: Note: I am taking her post Shinkenger so as to allow myself headroom if I wish to canon update her.
Not too much is known of Kaoru's history outside of the fact that she is the eighteenth head of the Shiba clan and has Takeru act as her kagemusha so as to prevent the Gedoushuu from interfering with her work of perfecting the sealing character so as to make sure that Doukoku and his forces could not interfere with the peace that the Shiba clan, and the Shinkengers, have fought for to keep. When she was finished making sure that the character was perfected and she had enough mojikara, the energy that the Shinkengers utilize, she decided to come out of hiding once and for all and take back her title, thus assuming her birth right.
However, as soon as she did, it created a rift between Takeru and the Shinkengers when they found out that they were lied to. At first, Kaoru acted coldly to them and expected them to work with her because, to her, it didn't matter who was behind the role of Shinken Red - just that their primary objective was to work to fight off Doukoku and the Gedoushuu as they got stronger and stronger. Though, this strife between them eventually ended once Kaoru acknowledged that the Shinkengers stood loyal to Takeru himself due to everything they had been through together, and so, she decided to adopt him and make him the true successor to the Shiba clan name and thus made Takeru her son.
When she failed to seal Doukoku away with the sealing character after he managed to break through it, she resigned as the eighteenth head and officially made Takeru the nineteenth head of the Shiba clan as she recovered from her injuries that she received. When Doukoku was defeated by the Shinkengers, she was able to leave the Shiba house and said her goodbyes to everyone. Comically, however, Tanba, her retainer, suggested that she gets married and promptly says, "Too soon."
It's with this that she's brought into the Digital World for another battle.
Character personality: Kaoru is, first and foremost, devoted to her birthright as the eighteenth head of the Shiba clan as well as her role as Shinken Red. To her, nothing else matters as long as she can successfully eradicate the Gedoushuu and anything else that threatens to disturb the peace that the ordinary citizens have that the Shinkengers protect with their very lives. It's that with this, she's able to execute her duties to the utmost efficency and will stop at nothing to achieve this goal.
Though, it doesn't necessarily mean that Kaoru is all about being super serious about her business without taking in the human factor of it all. Underneath the layer of her being a princess, she's actually very sincere and kind, able to take in other people's criticisms and concerns in stride, and therefore, be able to either help the person out with whatever it is, be it serious or inane (although, if it's the latter, Kaoru will more than likely stare at the person as if in a matter of "are you serious about asking me to do this?" ...Don't worry, she'll come around).
It's also stated that Kaoru is very calm under pressure and can work through the odds, even if they are insurmountable and will see the result she wants to the end, no questions asked. Even when she's beaten down, she'll do what she can to rise up again and make sure that the result is one she's proud of. It's also worth noting that she is wise beyond her years, thanks to her experience with being a lord. That being said, due to her upbringing, she's sort of naive when it comes to things like interacting with others on a normal basis. This is something she's trying to work on so as it's not obvious, but it'll still shine through. Just don't comment on it and you won't get whacked in the head with a fan.

Digimon partner personality: Kaoru's Leormon thinks that he is the head honcho. The big cheese. The one in charge.
Why?
Well, because fuck you, he has a PRINCESS for a tamer and all y'all can go suck it 'cause you just ain't as cool as this big cat is.
BUT, NO SERIOUSLY - as much of an nonredeemable asshole as he appears to be, there's some good in him. Somewhere. Gosh, d-do you just expect him to like you right off the bat?! BAKA. BAKA BAKA BAKA. :| Okay, so maybe he is tsun. Who cares?! It's not like he likes you or anything or, worse, even thinks of himself as... as... as... deredere! Perish the thought because this Leormon is as swift as the coursing river, with all the force of a great typhoon, all the strength of a raging fire and as mysterious as the dark side of...THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOON.
Silliness aside, Leormon is spoiled, bratty and just as petulant as a four-year-old who just got told "no" that they couldn't have ice cream right now. He's also loud, proud, and willing to shout that he is awesome right off the bat. All because Kaoru is his tamer and that he thinks that he can use her clout however he wishes without any ramifications because, hey, all princesses are spoiled little brats who don't lift a finger to help out, right?
Well, in Kaoru's case, that is grossly wrong because she will reprimand Leormon in his behavior and go put him in time out like the child he is. And he will protest loudly that he doesn't need timeout, even when he knows he's stepped out of line.
That being said, Leormon is just the kind of person Kaoru needs to drag her out of her shell that she surrounds herself because he thinks just being all stuffy and uptight isn't a good way to live, and thus, wants her to smile more, so if he has to act like an overzealous idiot, then so be it. Other people being happy will make him happy in turn and that's all he wants in the world, other than for his tamer to be safe. But, after he's done acting like an idiot is when that desire comes forth.
... and done being a tsuntsun, too.
Because, hey, that's always fun to do.
Character abilities: As the eighteenth head of the Shiba clan, Kaoru can transform into Shinken Red with her own Shoudophone, and as such, has access to the Shinkenmaru which is the main weapon that the Shinkengers use. In addition, she has the Inromaru at her disposal to become Super Shinken Red. In addition, she can utilize the Kyoryuu Disc and become Hyper Shinken Red and use the Kyoryuumaru as a weapon. Furthermore, she's able to wield the Mogyuu Bazooka effectively, another weapon granted to the Shinkengers, and can be combined with the Super Shinkenmaru to form the Super Mogyuu Bazooka.
Outside of this, Kaoru has a large amount of skills dealing with leadership-like roles, such as when wartime comes and she knows how to use what skills her teammates has effectively to deal with the likes of the Gedoushuu and other people.
Oh, also, if you're Tanba, expect to be whapped in the head a lot with a fan, too. She's great at that.
Sample RP: While it had been jarring for Kaoru to discover that she was brought here from forces outside of her control, she was trying to make sure to remain as calm and collected as possible and it had worked as she went to get as much intel as needed about her current situation as well as ask around if they had seen one Shiba Takeru, or anyone else she knew around. Though, when it became to no avail, she decided to stay put and assess her situation first hand.
As far as she was aware, she still had her powers, so if there was the sight of danger, she could easily transform once more and be able to handle it herself. That being said, what she wasn't factoring in was that she, too, would have her own digimon partner just saunter on up like he owned the place. And as such, she quickly took to it to let him know who was in charge and even more. And, while he loudly protested, she took no mind to his childish prattle and regarded him as being too loud.
... Which is where the fan came in, and boy, did Leormon hate that stupid fan and the person behind it even more. So, what was the first thing that Kaoru did?
Tie his mouth up as if she had a makeshift muzzle and then put him in time out.
"I hate you, you stupid princess! You bet that everyone's lower than you!" Leormon hissed as Kaoru gave him a slight cold stare.
"... Er, I mean - I-I take that back. Whoa, you are sure scary, lady," he quickly corrected himself, suppressing a gulp.
And that is how that Leormon quickly learned that Shiba Kaoru was a lady who was not meant to be trifled with.
